.         Horses are the main interest at this camp, and riding is the only sport !!  From Beginners through advanced riders, your daughter only needs to 'love horses" to enjoy this special week of camp. Campers not only learn to ride, but also to love, respect, and care for their horses.  Each girl will be assigned their own horse and all equipment (including safety helmets) for the entire week of camp.  Counselors spend many hours working with each camper to be sure they are safe and informed.  Lessons in "horse care" are taught daily, and girls will use their knowledge to care for their own horse during the week-long stay.  Some campers choose to stay longer than one week, and may say as many weeks as they like.  As only 15 riders are taken each week, so be sure to sign up early if you would like to have a special week, or would like to stay more than one week.  Riders are also welcome to bring along their own personal horse if they have one.   We will supply everything your horse needs during his/her stay, and a fee of $75 for the week is added on to the cost of the camp.  Arrangements may be made through the camp director for this extra service.   If your camper does not have a horse, one will be supplied at no charge, along with all equipment needed for that horse.  (no extra charge)  Weeks of camp will be listed on the web site soon for 2009.

JUST HORSES, JUST GIRLS, JUST 15 CAMPERS EACH WEEK.    How can it get any better for summer camp!

A summer camp that is all about horses, and only takes 15 campers each week???  Snuggled in the center of Ashtabula County, near the county seat of Jefferson, Ohio, is the Can-Do-It Farm summer horse camp for young girls, 8-20.   Located on 125 acres of beautiful Farmland, the CDI Farm houses over 35 horses for the summer camp.  A family-run business since 1975, the Farm has hosted campers from many countries and almost every state. Girls who love horses, and everything that goes along with horses, re-visit our Farm every year to learn about and love horses!!  We feel that horses are the pathway to a young girls heart! We teach them love and respect for all animals.  Learning about horses is more than just a "week" of learning, it is a lifetime of memories and friends.
What brings equestrian girls to the Farm?   Horses.  From our youngest stock to the oldest and dearest stock, the horses will help us teach your daughter about the love, respect, riding and care of horses of all breeds and ages.  A non-competitive atmosphere is the perfect surroundings for campers to learn all about the care and handling of horses.  Riding lessons twice daily will keep your rider busy for approx. 4-8  hours.  Added activities include: Basic riding for the beginner riders,  Trail riding, Swimming of the horses, Dressage lessons from training level upward, lessons in jumping from beginner through advanced courses, Cross-country jumping for the more advanced riders, Two (2) Hunter Pace specialty camps in August, a special advanced training course for riders 14 years old and over, a special camp for riders to learn the basics of jumping, a special Tandem, Trails and Games week this season for all age and ability level riders, and Just Plain Fun week for everyone to enjoy. Our campers have requested Dressage this season, so we included a "combined Training" week where we will center our work on dressage and jumping.  Riders wishing to learn about dressage should consider the Combined Training week, July 1-7, 2007.   There is a camp for all riding abilitys and all age riders.  If your camper wants to ride horses, we have a week to make her smile!  A safe, relaxed atmosphere to learn all about horses and riding.  In business since 1975.

Lessons taught include grooming, medical care, tack & equipment used in their sport, ground lessons on lunging, special young stock handling, jumping, Hunter Pace weeks, dressage training, loading techniques, wrapping legs for safety & work, saddle types and tack and equipment, lunging, breaking young stock,  course design, and so many other subjects that I can’t list them all.  If your campers want to learn something, we will help them. Your daughter just needs to "love" horses, and we will take it from there.  We are a  safe, well established,  small camp. Your camper will not become "lost" with hundreds of other campers. Our campers return year after year to enjoy the Farm. 15 campers each week are assigned horses and equipment.  Some campers even bring their own horses to work with during the week.  Board for your own horse cost $75 extra for the week. (a list of required shots will be given to you before you bring your horse to camp.)  What better way to learn to ride than to work with your own horse.

Experienced riders who are 18 and over may send resumes to the Farm for summer employment.  Can-Do-It Farm is  looking for a counselor for he summer of 2008.  We will be looking for a young lady who wants to teach others to ride and love horses.  You must have experience, and send a resume with references to the Farm.  I will interview you at any time, just call for an appointment.  This is a great job, with lots of learning and teaching involved.  College internships are available to the right students.  If you want to spend a terrific summer on a Horse Farm in Ohio, just give me a call, or email me at   cdifarm@roadrunner.com   Secure a job NOW for the summer of 2008.  The Farm will even board your horse for FREE if you are hired to work for the summer.  Room and board supplied.  Good salary included.  If you are qualified, give me a call.  440-858-2244.

SEI certified helmets are required for all riding and work around the horses on the Farm.  Safety is #1 on the Farm. TIP OF THE DAY:

Summer Camp is the perfect idea for young girls who want to own their own horse some day.  Lessons are taught on horse care, and not only on riding the horses.

Horses teach responsibility and caring.  Camps at our Farm only have 15 riders in each week to be sure the girls are safe and content.  Visit the camp that you are planning to attend, and ask for a tour.  Talk to the owners and counselors if possible.   Decide if you want a competitive camp or a non-competitive camp.  English or Western Riding?   Be safe, and have a great time selecting just the right camp for your girls.
